EMS Director / EMS

EMS Director – City of Port Aransas, Texas

Pay Range DOE $45,568.04-$51,287.24

Directs medical emergency service program by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

  • Coordinates activities of persons involved in rescue, transportation, and care of accident or catastrophe victims, and others requiring emergency medical
  • Arranges for establishment of emergency medical facilities, staffing of facilities by emergency-trained medical and auxiliary personnel, installation of telecommunication network components, and acquisition of emergency
  • Maintains records of facilities and personnel, and periodically inspects facilities to ensure capability of meeting area's emergency
  • Maintains telecommunication contact with mobile and stationary units comprising emergency service network to coordinate activities of personnel, enlist services of other protective agencies, or provide alternate directions to on-scene emergency personnel when planned procedures are not
  • Develops, plans, and participates in training programs for ambulance and rescue
  • Cooperates with schools and community organizations to encourage public interest in and knowledge of basic and advanced first aid training, and assists groups in development and presentation of
  • Maintains records of emergency medical service activities, for coordination with records prepared by cooperating institutions, to provide data for evaluation of
  • Prepares reports stating progress, problems, and plans for future implementation of emergency service for community or area, for review by officials of sponsoring
  • Confers with coordinators of emergency programs in other areas to discuss problems, coordinate activities, and cooperate in area or statewide

Part-Time EMT-Basic / EMS

Wage:  $14.92 per hour

Summary:
Functions independently, once credentialed by the EMS Director/Chief, providing exceptional pre-hospital clinical medicine based on the Departments Protocols and Scope of Care. Must be able to utilize electronic communication including portable and mobile radios, electronic patient care records and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Once cleared to independent duty, field paramedics are required to manage medical and trauma patients, direct co-workers, first responders and bystanders. Must be able to maintain and trouble shoot medical equipment as well as keep equipment and vehicle clean and response ready.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Report for duty on time and when assigned. Maintain good physical condition and personal hygiene. Ability to assess emergency scenes. Lift 150 pounds with assistance. Operate EMS vehicles under normal and emergency conditions. Operate standard equipment; such as stretchers, cardiac monitors and standard diagnostic equipment. Assist in extrication of persons from vehicles, bend and lift and perform CPR for extended periods of time. Be able to stand for extended periods of time. Work regularly assigned shifts, overtime when required and attend all mandatory in-service training. Other duties may be assigned.

Part-Time Field Paramedic / EMS

Wage:  $16.30 per hour

Gas Utility Worker / Gas Department

Wage:  $15.37 per hour

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Gas Foreman, safely performs routine tasks and projects of moderate complexity requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance on pipeline system;
  • Troubleshoot, test, install, and repair pipeline system materials and equipment;
  • Operates: vehicle, pipeline system equipment, and other essential equipment. Handles material, cargo, and accessories;
  • Reads meters, investigates low/high consumption.
  • Completes maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents on paper and PC; and

Assistant Pool Manager / Parks & Recreation

Wage:  $16.30 per hr.

Summary:  Serves as the Operations Manager of the Pool Facilities in the absence of the Pool Manager, with the aim to provide recreational activities to the public by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist the Pool Manager in supervising the pool employees
  • Assists the Pool Manager in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Assists the Pool Manager in promoting community participation in aquatic facility by establishing programs, events, and classes
  • Assists the Pool Manager in compiling record of pool activities
  • Assists the Pool Manager in handling rental contracts and schedules pool activities
  • Assists the Pool Manager in ordering supplies and necessary equipment
  • Assists the Pool Manager in enforcing regulations and policies governing operation of pool facility
  • Oversees pool lifeguards and engages in keeping premises of pool facilities clean and in good repair
  • Inspects the facility daily for any unsafe conditions
  • Attends all in-service training sessions
  • Responds quickly and effectively in emergencies
  • Completes any necessary records and reports
  • Assists with teaching swim lessons

Wage:  $12.50 Per hr.

Sumnary:  Senior Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons through preventative measures and emergency responding. Senior Lifeguards are also responsible for pool and lifeguard management in the absence of the Pool Manager or Assistant Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Enforces all pool rules and regulations strictly, consistently, and courteously
  • Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid
  • Recognizes and responds quickly and effectively in emergencies
  • Attends all in-service training sessions
  • Helps clean and maintain the pool, bathrooms, office, and pool deck
  • Inspects the facility daily, and reports any unsafe conditions to the supervisor
  • Completes any necessary records and reports
  • Maintains fitness level (swimming, strength, and endurance)
  • Assists with teaching swim lessons.
  • Responsible for opening, closing and managing the pool facilities in the absence of the Pool Manager/Assistant Manager
  • Responsible for subordinate employees in the absence of the Pool Manager/Assistant Manager
  • Reports any unsafe conditions to the Pool Manager/Assistant Manager
  • Reports guard misbehavior to the Pool Manager/Assistant Manager
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor
