Summer Camp Brochure 2021

The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to be collaborating with the Port Aransas Independent School District, Olsen Elementary, ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) and Aware (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education) so that every student can participate in all of the amazing activities being offered this summer.

Each morning students will enjoy a delicious energy-filled breakfast provided by the always supportive Helping Hands Food Pantry.

After breakfast, students will join ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) for activity-based math and reading STEM activities and also participate in Camp Marlin physical activities like; basketball, volleyball, kickball, soccer, flag football, and swimming.

Week #1: June 7-11

Nature Adventures Exploring our world with nature hikes, guest speakers, and habitat creations!

(Field trip to OSO Bay Wildlife Preserve on June 11)


Week #2: June 14-18

Fun & Games Enjoy playing indoor and outdoor games, creating new games, and designing virtual escape rooms!

(Field trip to USS Lexington on June 18)


Week #3: June 21-25

STEM Collaborating and creating while solving problems through science, technology, engineering, and math crafts!

(Field trip to Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens on June 25)


Week #4: June 28-July 2

Brainiac Finding new skills like: gardening, cooking, birding, and flying drones!

(No Field Trip this week, extra day at Splash Pad)


Week #5: July 6-9

Freestyle Celebrating all of our favorite activities and programs! Mixing it up with a week of freestyle games!

(Field trip to bowling in Aransas Pass on July 9)


Week #6: July 19-23

Hogwarts Exploring wizardry! Creating characters, mixing potions, and playing quidditch!

(Field Trip to San Antonio Zoo on July 23)


Week #7: July 26-30

Amazing Race Building teams and competing together in the ultimate race adventure!

(Field trip to Bowling Aransas Pass on July 30)


Week #8: August 3-7

Creating your own superhero personas, discovering the science behind superpowers, and using your talents to “do good¨.

(Field trip to Hurricane Alley on August 6)
